Budget Planning That Actually Works
Most people think budgeting is about restriction. We disagree. It's about understanding where your money goes and making intentional choices that match what you care about.
Our programs teach activity-based budgeting through real scenarios and practical exercises. You'll learn to track spending patterns, identify cost drivers, and build financial plans that fit your actual life.
We run cohorts twice a year. The next intake begins September 2025, with another starting in February 2026.

How We Teach Financial Planning
Our approach breaks down complex budget concepts into manageable pieces. Each session builds on the last, so you develop genuine skills rather than memorising formulas.
Foundation Work
We start with your current spending habits. You'll map out where money actually goes each month, not where you think it should go. This honest baseline is what makes everything else work. Participants bring three months of bank statements and we walk through categorising expenses together.
Activity Analysis
Here's where activity-based budgeting gets interesting. You'll connect spending to specific activities in your life. That morning coffee isn't just an expense, it's part of your work commute routine. Understanding these connections helps you make smarter adjustments without feeling deprived.
Building Your System
With patterns identified, you'll create a personalised budget structure. We cover allocation strategies, buffer funds, and periodic expenses that catch people off guard. The goal is a system you can maintain without constant spreadsheet updates.
Real-World Testing
Theory only takes you so far. You'll test your budget for six weeks while still in the program. Weekly check-ins help you adjust when reality doesn't match predictions. Most participants refine their approach three or four times before finding what sticks.

What You'll Actually Do
Live Workshops
Eight sessions over twelve weeks. Each runs for two hours with a mix of instruction, group work, and individual exercises. We keep groups small, usually twelve to fifteen people, so everyone gets attention when they're stuck.
Between Sessions
You'll track expenses using methods we provide, though you're welcome to adapt them. Most participants spend about thirty minutes daily on tracking, more in the first few weeks as habits form. There's homework, but it's directly connected to your own finances.
Tools and Resources
We provide spreadsheet templates, tracking worksheets, and scenario examples. Everything works in Excel or Google Sheets. No special software required, no complicated apps to learn. The focus stays on understanding principles rather than mastering technology.
Post-Program Access
After the twelve weeks end, you get six months of optional monthly meetups. These are informal sessions where past participants share challenges and solutions. Attendance is voluntary but many find them helpful during tricky financial periods.
What Past Participants Say
These are people who completed the program in 2024. Results vary based on individual circumstances and commitment to the process.

I'd tried budgeting apps before but never stuck with them. This approach made sense because it connected to my actual routines. Still use the system eight months later.
March 2024 Cohort

The workshop format worked well for me. Having other people working through similar challenges made it easier to stay accountable. The post-program meetups are genuinely useful.
September 2024 Cohort

What helped most was the activity mapping exercise. I found spending patterns I didn't know existed. Made some changes that freed up money without feeling like sacrifice.
